Packing is where most moves are won or lost. Cartons too heavy to lift safely, the kettle buried at the bottom of a wardrobe box, glassware wrapped in yesterday's newspaper - none of it shows up until the van is loaded and something rattles. Drophex Logistics offers packing services as a standalone job or as part of a full move, covering anything from a single collection of fragile pieces to an entire house boxed in a day.
As a moving company with packing service included, we can take on as much or as little as suits you. Some customers have materials dropped off a week early and work through the wardrobes themselves, leaving us the kitchen and the breakables. Others want the whole property packed, labelled and listed before the removal crew arrives. Both count as packing and moving services - the only real difference is where you would rather spend your own time.
Packing that makes unpacking easier
Anyone can put objects into a box. The value is in the system: pack by room, label by room, keep the essentials reachable, and make sure nothing heavy ends up sitting on something that will not take the weight.
01
Full or partial packing
Have the whole property packed, or just the kitchen, the loft and the fragile items, and deal with the rest yourself.
02
Materials supplied
Boxes, tape and bubble wrap are provided, along with protective wrapping for furniture and mattresses.
03
Labelled room by room
Every carton is marked with its room and contents, so the crew unloads into the right place and you can find the kettle.
What our packing service covers
Fragile and high-value items
Glassware, crockery, mirrors, artwork and electronics wrapped individually and boxed so nothing shifts in transit.
Furniture protection
Sofas, mattresses and polished surfaces covered before they are carried out, rather than after they have been knocked.
Unpacking on request
We can unpack at the other end and take the empty boxes away, so you are not living around a wall of cardboard.
Homes of any size
From a studio flat to a family house, packed in one visit or spread across a couple of days.
Offices and commercial
Desks, files, IT equipment and storage packed and labelled ready for a business move.

Who books a packing service
Packing is the first thing people outsource when time runs short. Most enquiries come from:
- Movers with a completion date that leaves no realistic time to pack
- Families with a full house of belongings and small children underfoot
- Anyone moving fragile, antique or high-value items that need proper protection
- Businesses that need staff working right up to the day of the move
What affects the cost of a packing service
Packing is priced on time and materials, so the figure moves with:
- The number of rooms and how much has accumulated in them
- How much of the packing you intend to do yourself
- The volume of fragile, awkward or high-value items involved
- Whether you want unpacking at the other end as well
Packing as part of a wider move
Most packing jobs are booked alongside something else:
Packing service questions answered
Materials, labour and a system. We bring boxes, tape and protective wrapping, pack room by room, wrap fragile items individually, protect furniture, and label every carton with its room and contents so it gets unloaded into the right place.
Yes. Boxes, tape and bubble wrap are supplied as standard. If you would rather pack yourself, we can drop the materials off in advance so you can work through the house at your own pace.
Yes, and it is a common request. Plenty of customers pack their own clothes, books and non-breakables and leave us the kitchen, the loft and anything fragile. You pay for the work we actually do.
It depends on volume rather than the number of bedrooms. A lightly furnished flat is usually a few hours. A full family home with a loft and a garage is more often a full day, sometimes two. We will tell you which after going through the rooms with you.
We can. Unpacking is booked separately, and we can take the empty boxes and used wrapping away afterwards so you are not left with a pile of cardboard in the hallway.
Yes. Packing is available on its own if you already have transport arranged, though most customers book it alongside their house removals or office removals so a single team handles the whole job.
